Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and mashed bananas.
  4. Add the dry ingredients and milk alternately to the banana mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  7. Bake for about 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely, then top with whipped cream and maraschino cherries before serving.
