  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into triangles.
  7. Place scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and pumpkin spice until smooth. Drizzle over cooled scones.
