Crème Brûlée Cupcakes

Delightful cupcakes that bring the classic flavors of crème brûlée into a perfect portable form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the heavy cream, and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  8. Drizzle caramel sauce on top before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, sprinkle some sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize it.
  • Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before adding caramel to prevent it from melting.
