Instructions

  1. Start by placing the chopped dates in a small saucepan and covering them with water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda until combined.
  5. Stir in the cooled date mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased crockpot and cover.
  7. Cook on low for 4 hours or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
