  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 package instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup purple, green, and gold sugar (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add in the softened butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth, then place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. After the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle, spread with cinnamon sugar if desired, and shape into a ring.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Let cool.
  9. Decorate with icing and sprinkle colored sugars on top.
