  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear the chicken breasts for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Add heavy cream, salt, and pepper, and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in chopped basil and 3/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, mixing well.
  7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and cover with the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate in seasonings for a couple of hours before cooking.
  • Serve with pasta or fresh bread to soak up the sauce.
