- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- In a bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water and sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add butter, salt, and half of the flour to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until a dough forms. Knead for 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the dough and mold it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
