  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture, along with melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
