  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
  3. Add the molasses and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes.
  7. Shape into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. For thumbprint cookies, make an indent in the center and fill with chocolate chips before baking.
