Spicy Shrimp Sushi Stacks

These Spicy Shrimp Sushi Stacks are an easy and delicious appetizer that brings the flavors of sushi to your home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped scallions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice and water in a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover for 18 minutes.
  3. While rice is cooking, sauté the shrimp in a pan with soy sauce and sriracha until cooked.
  4. After the rice is done, let it cool slightly and then begin layering the stacks.
  5. In a small mold, create a layer of rice, followed by shrimp, avocado, and scallions. Repeat until desired height is reached.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before removing the mold.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
  • This dish can be served with soy sauce for dipping.
