Tortellini Carbonara

A delicious and creamy tortellini carbonara that incorporates turkey bacon and chicken ham for a flavorful twist.

  • 12 ounces cheese tortellini
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 4 ounces chicken ham, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chicken ham and garlic; cook until the ham is slightly browned.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and Parmesan until smooth.
  5. Add the cooked tortellini to the ham mixture, then pour the cream mixture over the top. Stir to combine.
  6. Cook on low heat until the sauce thickens and coats the tortellini, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Stir in the turkey bacon and season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can substitute regular pasta with whole wheat tortellini.
  • Adjust the cream and cheese quantity to suit your taste preference.
