This is the easiest way to make artisan bread at home without any kneading required.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and instant yeast together.
  2. Add the water and stir until well combined.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  5. Let it rest for another hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  7. Once the oven is hot, carefully remove the Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and cover it.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For best results, use a kitchen scale to measure the flour.
  • This bread is perfect for sandwiches or toasted with butter.
